Bestselling author and historian Dan Jones opens the #AsiaLitFest 2019
Bestselling chronicler of the Middle Ages, Dan Jones, opened the 13th Asia House Bagri Foundation Literature Festival on 3 September 2019 with his new book Crusaders: An Epic History of the Wars for the Holy Lands.

Jones' appearance at the #AsiaLitFest was also his first London event for his new book, which offers a distinctive perspective on the medieval conflict between Christianity and Islam. Through his vast historical knowledge, Jones indulged the audience in a lively account of the imprint that the Crusades have had on relations between the Muslim world and the West.
Jones offered insight into the various 'crusaders' of the book - men and women, Christians of the eastern and western churches, Sunni and Shi'a Muslims, Mongols and even Vikings - and explained how this thousand-year-old conflict continues to shape the modern world.
The event was chaired by novelist and Managing Editor (Arts & Books) of Prospect Magazine, Sameer Rahim (Asghar and Zahra), and was followed by a Q&A session and book signing.
